![]() So far, sometimes i had some heavy processing load, if this counts as obstacle, but, well, it's because i am processing heavily. Right now, i still use Sonar for that, but i will see, how stable 3.1 is for me and switch, if i feel it's alright. I guess this counts as "recording", but i plan to use it also on vocals and "real" instruments in future. Sometimes i throw in spares effects like the klanghelm, a stereo touchup and similar toos, but more often some analysis tools. It is pure fun to go for cleaner up to vintage sound, with sharp transient or smashed busses, changing the dynamics type on channels and busses, use different tape saturation points in busses and master bux, all with excellent sound options, just like, who might have thought that, a console. I can tweak all gain stages until i like the sound, use channel, bus and master eqs/filters/dyn/tape etc.# and dynamics, and after that thru the master section. ![]() There i have the drums going through the busses with bus effects, filters, tape sat. If i go for full sound, i export the master out, too. makes for a cleaner sound, but with EQ and dynamics and possibly effects i want to use. I edit, i choose what to keep, if i like the channel sounds, i just export the clip from the strip, with the accompanied midi track clip. ![]() This way, the drums go through a complete console emulation in the end. When i am due with rhythm experimenting and sounddesign, i have audio and midi tracks recorded, often i set marker while doing different things and recording, so later editing is easier. I route each sum/drumset out to a different bus, where i touch up sound, too. Normally i record 2 tracks, the active MIDI and the active audio tracks. Now i have plenty of room to be creative and record live while sound experimenting and turning settings in Jamstix. Now i *bypass* each softsynth except the 2 or 1 in use / complete active sets later.muting doesn't do the trick, the synths eat processing power still. of channels for the project.) Three times Jamstix, so i don't have to fiddle with drum maps inside Jamstix anymore, no menu stuff. So i have JS3 -> AD2 - JS3 -> SD3 - JS3 as stereo channels (I use presets and sum outputs from the drummachines until now, but plan to route channels for individual drums, too. i have 3 instances of Jamstix 3 - one puts out MIDI for Addictive Drums 2, one for Session Drummer 3 and one with Jamstix' own drum lib. With the last installed version of Mixbus, i started with content creation right inside this DAW,i.e.
